History
The Promotional Committee of Baozhong Junior High School was established in 1965 by vote of local township councilmen at the Second Interim Meeting of the Seventh Township Council. After dedicated planning, the preparatory office of the school was set up by the Yunlin County Government in June of the same year, with Mr. Liu Daizong appointed as the director of the office. The land of the campus was designated by the township office. In September, two classes of students were enrolled with the assistance of Dongshi Junior High School, and classes were held in Baozhong Elementary School during the time period.
The starting year of the school was 1966, following the enrollment of students.
In July of 1966, three classes of new students were enrolled, and in October, four new classrooms and an office area were built. The 7th graders moved to the new classrooms for class. On January 17th, 1968, with government approval, the school became an independent entity, Baozhong Junior High School of Yunlin County, with Mr. Liu Daizong as the first principal (Jan.11th, 1968. Document Code: Yun Fu Jiao Zhong No. 020106). In order to meet the growing needs of the school, additional classrooms and office space were built, increasing the magnitude of the school. More teaching equipment was also bought, showing prominent results in teaching efficiency. In July, the first graduating class left the school with exceptional performance and results deserving praise.
In 1968, the government implemented the nine-year compulsory education and on August 1st, the school changed its name to Yunlin County Baozhong Junior High School. To date, the students of Baozhong Junior High have been able to abide by the teachings of their teachers and expanded the reputation of the school. With the help and enthusiastic guidance from officials, local personnel, student parents, and the cooperation of school faculty, school affairs are all in order with visions for the future. School affairs are a heavy burden to shoulder, but we should overcome obstacles and strive for improvement. We still wish for the wisdom and guidance from different professions to encourage the faculty and students to fulfill the sacred mission of education.
